Vino dell'Anno

November 2001 - Vino dell'Anno

In these last years our wines have reached an high level of personality. The business success and Italian and international classifications demonstrate this. It's important that these awards are not only for one wine, but for more.

One for all Tal Lùc'99 "Best Italian White Wine" (I Vini d'Italia 2002 - L'Espresso)

After the harvest the grapes are dried up for 100/120 days in a conditioned area (yield 15%).
The slow fermentation in new French oak barriques produces little alcohol and a huge olfactory and gustative complexity.
The contrast sweet/acid combines with elegance with a deep sensation of fat.

October / Harvest 2001

On the 3rd of September we started the harvest, that continued till the 15th, when we finished with the white grapes.
After a little break, from the 20th to the 27th we harvested the red grapes and at the end Confini and Tal Lùc's grapes.
365 days of work, anxieties and enthusiasm concentrated in a few weeks of intensive activity.
Thanks to the good weather and to our passion and patience now we can say that white wines have similar characteristics of the 2000 vintage: wines are pulpy, elegant and balanced ... all characteristics of the Lis Neris style.

WHITE WINES (Gris - Picol - Jurosa - vintage 2000)
The grapes come from our most mature and rapresentative vineyards, and they partially ferment and mature in wood.
With the 2000 vintage, now ready for distribution, the three selections abundantly exceed the regular wines, even for the availability.
In the future these wines will be the main part of our production, and they will be, as Lis, the most important and rapresentative wines of our program.

RED WINES:
Lis Neris 99 - new vineyard, new wine.
The 99 vintage is the turning point... taste to believe!
The improvement of our most important red wine has involved the Cabernet Sauvignon too.
