Harvest 2005

The quality is good, but only for those who worked well in the vineyards….
We are particularly satisfied with the aromatic varieties.

At this moment we are picking up the grapes that represent the basis of our top wines in our oldest vineyards; if the weather is fine for some more days, 2005 vintage will let our most important wines express themselves as in the previous years.

As for the reds…. for now the grapes are doing well, but for their ripening (sugar, acidity and polyphenolics) it must be sunny!

It's Harvest Time
September 2005

After a summer with ups and dows which has made us just partly happy, a group of 40 people is ready to start harvesting.
This was the coolest August of the past 29 years! Together with low temperatures there have been rains; not strong ones, but frequent.
Just like the past summer, thinning out (20 %) and a deep cleaning turned to be necessary.
But now things are starting to move! Latest graphics make us foresee a beginning of the harvest due to 12th September. To tell the truth, harvest has already begun in our area, but if we want to get wines that make the difference we must be able to wait and take some risks...
