Fatto in Paradiso V Edition
December 2009
Dear friends,
the best things we have in this world are those coming from the heart.
We don’t need to buy them, they are already ours and it’s these that give life a deeper meaning. Fatto in Paradiso is a beautiful Christmas present; giving it as a present, also for ourselves. Is a way to offer Francesca’s children the chance of a better future!

Wine Experiences
July 2008
2007 has been one of the most precocious vintages among Friulians’ memories; anomalous but at the same time unique. People had the chance to find it out also during Lis Neris Wine Experiences, a series of events that took place between May and June and that gave the opportunity to our products’ lovers to taste the previews of Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Fiore di Campo.
From the first date at the end of April, at Perbacco in Lignano until the last events at Salotto in Cuneo and Terme Preistoriche in Padova, Wine Experiences have been about 60, set all over Italy, and our productions had a leading role. The anticipation in the beginning of past summer’s harvest was the main theme of all the events, which wanted to point out how even a very young wine can reach high quality levels.: “Even though our winery is known to the consumer from Gorizia mainly for the Cabernet Sauvignon – the producer Alvaro Pecorari explained during an event hosted at the restaurant Da Majda in Gorizia on 9th, May – we wanted to favour white wines during our preview, because it is for these grapes that this area is known in the world: so we took advantage of the new vintage, that of 2007, to have our guests get closer to younger productions. In this way we wanted to underline how the anticipation in the past harvest, which in some cases begun even at Mid-August, something which hadn’t happened for decades, guaranteed anyway a great quality in the final product. Often people tend to think that the best wines are those with longer maturation: that’s not always true, and as a matter of fact the event we organized wants to point out the goodness of the simplest products”.

Lis Neris and Art
July 2008
You can find us too among the official partners of Anteprima FVG, the newborn exhibition of visual arts which opened on 7th, June at Spazio Pubblico Arte Contemporanea in Villa di Toppo Florio in Buttrio. This is the first regional exhibition for 57 artists living in Friuli Venezia Giulia and invited by 20 critics interested in research productions faced in visual arts in this area.
The project is supported by institutions like the Municipality of Buttrio and the Regional Department of Sports, Culture and Peace Politics, but also by private subjects like Lis Neris: this proves once again our attention towards initiatives of remarkable artistic and cultural value, with an interest for involving and innovative projects.
As a matter of fact, the prerogative of the invited artists wasn’t that of showing an important number of works, but to be active in the reprocessing of languages, themes, potentialities of the contemporary cultural imaginary. The objective of this project is that of finding new areas of expositive research by livening the regional choice panorama and cultural debates. The event is characterized by 3 different arrangements that Villa di Toppo Florio will host during the summer – that of 7th, June, 19th, July and 30th, August - that will let the public view various works to better understand the topics elaborated by the displaying artists.
Among the others, the region’s culture councillor Roberto Mulinaro took part at the opening of the event, and there he praised the characteristics of Villa di Toppo Florio’s initiatives. Paolo Toffolutti, the organizer of the exposition, explained: “Our aim was that to find artists with no big curriculum but at the same time with catchy styles and messages in a contemporary sphere: in this way we united painting, photography, video, objects, small plastic structures and various kinds of drawings, creating a very heterogeneous frame which is one of the strong points of the exhibition. The artists all live in this region, and they all are very talented: it’s not good to give names, but I am quite sure that at least three of them will have a great future. Basically we have tried to find out some “perls” and to mix them in order to guarantee great quality to the public. By doing so we wanted to establish new rules and twist existing ones: moreover, the curators were chosen for their ability on the contemporary theme”. There is a chance now for Anteprima Fvg to become a yearly meeting: “We would definitely want it to become an important showcase – adds Toffolutti – but not necessarily on a yearly basis: we will take this into consideration in the next months. Should this happen, next year we will look abroad, towards neighbouring realities like Austria and Slovenia, places rich of talented people as well.

Fiore di Campo 2007: “a new interpretation”
June 2008
The history and chronicles of the war of Tocai, a bloodless yet high pitched war between Friuli and Hungary, is now enduring since 15 years.
At the moment Hungary is the winner, and Tocai Friulano labels can be released only within Italian borders; out of this Country the wine must be labelled as Friulano.
For what it concerns us, since the beginning we decided to call our Tocai “Fiore di Campo”. A personalized choice, just like its label and the initial target of producing a wine based on Tocai and backed by grapes helping to create a wider complexity and aromatic depth, without being part of what the traditional schemes are.
The result is Fiore di Campo 2007 (85% Tocai Friulano, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Riesling). |

Wines from the most precocious vintage among Friulian's memories
June 2008
Due to the early onset of Spring, this has been the most precocious vintage among Friulians’ memories.
Twenty days’ advance in the beginning of the harvest are a lot compared to the average of the past vintages; at the beginning we had some concerns regarding organization matters, but as soon as grapes began to arrive at the cellar, all of our worries and anxieties faded away.
The physiological development of the grapes was very regular and this acceleration did not jeopardize the high quality of the vintage.
White wines are very enfolding, with a good contrast of sapidity and acidity, ensuring a very interesting mineral evolution.
The reds which could count on a proper phenolical ripeness are much more than well promising.

March 2008
Spring and Easter arrived together this year, a very rare happening if you think that the last time it occured was at the beginning of the past century.
We like to think that these special occasions are the signal for a special year, for the starting viticultural season but also for the wines which will be available for consumers in the coming months.
2007 wins are maturing, their debut at Vinitaly (3rd-7th April) is a proof and reliable test, the vintage is promising very well and we are confident with its potentials.
Best wishes for a Happy Easter!
