Back to Earth
As Christmas is approaching we would like to present you something different from wine. Something different which can be combined with wine and many other things and which represents a natural culture linked to our region.
The products of the earth have a unique value especially for this hectic and consumerist society. They are a source of income for many families and at the same time they preserve an enormous cultural heritage made of ancient traditions.
San Daniele smoked trout
Where the Tagliamento river starts to widen his bed and where the underground water courses make pure water rich of minerals springs out, is the place where the trouts of Mauro Pighin live and reproduce themselves www.friultrota.it. Playing soccer together when we where young has strengthen our character and our friendship.
Restocina honey
Every season has different colors: woods and fields of Eastern Prealps look as if they were painted by a great artist. This is the ideal environment for Eliana and Christian's bees which together with the flower dust pick up also unique flavours and aromas mieleangolodiparadiso@gmail.com (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001663905862). Christian lived the Lis Neris experience working with us for some years. He brought his enthusiasm; he was extremely enterprising and very sensitive.
I really hope that in your Christmas pack together with a bottle of good wine there will be enough space for these nice, tasty and natural products.

Last days of harvest: the main features of 2010 vintage are already outlined
A summer rainer than usual and an ideal even if fickle September led us through this harvest.
Wines will have more acidity and less alcohol with a solid aromatic base. They will be well balanced and their development will bring pleasant surprises in the future.

Snow in August
It's amazing how really everything can happen.
While grapes are completing their maturation, on the mountains which surround our valley snows.
Honestly I've never seen the snow in August, since today.
This caused a sudden drop of temperatures which represents an important step for the maturation of white grapes.
We are eager to see how the next harvest, which is just around the corner, will be.

Vintage 2009: first bottles are ready
I’m thinking about people’s comments on these wines and on the possibilities of this new vintage.
Early vintages always cause some concerns but these 2009 wines, bottled few weeks ago, are already showing very well.
Strength (structure and acidity) and elegance (flavour and aromas) help each other creating a great mix.
Four wines bottled up to now: Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Fiore di Campo. The first two are the most powerful and have the characteristics to be loved immediately and for a long time!

Festa di Compleanno 2010
www.francy.org
It is called Birthday Party but it is much more. It is a very special Birthday where emotions, friendship and humanitarian involvement support each other in order to grow together.
It is a party where the birthday girl is not present.
“The best picture is that of a family as a model of cohesion, serenity and simplicity.
These characteristics need to be built up day by day with consistency and patience focusing on the most important life’s values.” C.F. |

Vinitaly 2010 - a big success!
This year at Vinitaly, we noticed an increase in enthusiasm and interest to have a more in depth understanding about wine.
Tasting wine is something special which pushes people to interact with each other and especially encourages reflection within oneself.
We met many people and heard a lot of comments, although one in particular stroke us: "....it is proven that during these economic times people haven't stopped drinking good wine: genuine work, and a producer's ability to turn the fruits of the earth into a product which grants consumers culture, joy and delight will remain the founding element contributing to wine success."
For statistic lovers, below are some Lis Neris figures at Vinitlaly 2010:
9000 wine tastings, 3000 people at the stand, 361 opened bottles
A big success!

Vinitaly 2010
Dear Friends,
2010 will be the 23rd Vinitaly for us, we can be considered veterans of this event which will take place in Verona form Thursday 8th to Monday 12th April.
Here everyone always finds a space: big and small producers, famous and unknown, more and less clever, but one thing is the same for everyone: the wine test!
We know how difficult it is for visitors to choose among many possibilities of tasting and we know everyone needs an anchor: LIS NERIS - PAD 6 STAND E7!
Visiting our stand is, as always, an opportunity for discovering new wines and for going into one's experience. Undoubtedly it is a moment for knowing and greeting each other.
We look forward to meeting you in Verona!

Spring 2010
Only at mid-March we left this long and cold winter, but now the are all the signs for a change: in the vineyard the air is crisp, the life is starting to run through the vines, many trees are dressed with their flowers.
Even if this moment comes every year, people like us who live it closely feel a renewed energy and start making good purposes.
W for the Nature and a Happy Easter to everyone!

March 2010
Dear Friends,
It is now half of March and except few faint attempts of showing up, spring has not come yet. We feel still deeply in winter as the last snow was on 10th March. Such a lot of snow is not usual in Friuli.
In the meanwhile we are finishing pruning and our vines will soon be ready, as usual, to start a new adventure!

+ sun – Co2
In the next years it will be more and more important to think about the environment and to behave properly in order to conserve it. Otherwise we will probably face the loss of purity and quality of things around us.
It is vital to start living and producing in a completely new way. To leave less traces! This is our commitment for next years. In order to reduce the production impact on the environment, we built a photovoltaic power plant on the roof of our winery which is harmoniously integrated in the architectural design of the building. The photovoltaic panels produce 2/3 of Lis Neris energy need reducing considerably the ecological impact of the winery. This is our concrete help in reducing Co2 emissions.

East or West ?
Will 2010 be a good year? Which is the prediction according to the Epiphany bonfires (Pignarul)?
Pignarul was and still is nowadays a wide spread pre-Christian tradition deep-rooted in the culture of Friuli people.
Celts used to light bonfires to ingratiate the divinities; they used to burn a puppet representing the past. Legend says that the direction of the smoke serves to predict the nature of the year to come.
This year different prediction came out. The main Pignaurl is the one in Tarcento, where the smoke did not take a well defined direction (nor East – good year- neither West – bad year): so 2010 will be unpredictable!
